It is important that all our staff maintain up-to-date knowledge, particularly at this time of continuing change. Therefore, for one afternoon each month, the surgery will operate an emergency only service so enable the staff to carry out important update training.
On these afternoons, during the hours of 1pm and 5pm the telephone lines will be closed and a message providing an emergency number will be heard. A receptionist will answer the emergency line and a GP will determine if the call is an emergency or whether it can be dealt with when the surgery re-opens at 5pm. During this time the dispensary will also be closed.
